HRH Prince Charles, The Prince of Wales, will continue his role as patron of the Battle of Britain Association ( BBFA ) for a further term. The association’s chairman, Squadron Leader Geoffrey Wellum DFC, and one of ” The Few “, said they were honoured to be told that His Royal Highness was prepared to continue as patron of the BBFA. He, as well as his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, who was the patron until her passing away, have always taken a close interest in the affairs of the BBFA.
The Battle of Britain Association was founded in 1958 and brings together RAF Fighter Command aircrew who flew in the Battle of Britain. It also works closely with the Battle of Britain Memorial Trust.
Very sadly there are only 15 surviving members of the original 2936, non of them younger than 94 years old.
We will remember them.
